When Life Feels Sh*tty, Let the Flower Plop Remind You What’s Possible

Emotional Support Coworker Ploppals Flower Plop

There’s a little corner of my home that’s become my world—a cozy nook where my computer hums, my favorite wingback chair sits (with just enough room for my dogs to curl up beside me), and boxes upon boxes of Ploppals patiently wait to be shipped off to their forever homes. This is my HQ, where I’m building Ploppals, and where I sometimes stare into the unknown, feeling both excited and a little overwhelmed.

And sitting right next to my monitor, there she is: my cheerful little Flower Plop. With her sweet smile and the card that reads, “Feeling sh*tty? If poop can grow flowers, YOU can do anything!”, she’s become more than a quirky crochet companion. She’s my daily reminder that growth isn’t always pretty or easy—but it’s always worth it.

Because let’s face it: feeling sh*tty can happen in so many ways. Maybe you’re battling a cold or feeling worn out physically. Maybe you’re staring down a challenge at work that feels too big, too complicated, too… impossible. Maybe you’re about to step into something completely new, and the nerves are eating away at your confidence. Or maybe someone said something that made you forget, just for a moment, how incredible you are.

Those moments are tough. They’re messy. They’re downright uncomfortable. And yet, those moments are where growth happens. Like compost turning into flowers, our challenges—our sh*ttiest times—have the potential to bloom into something beautiful if we let them. The Flower Plop reminds me of that every day.

Here’s the thing about growth: it stretches us in ways that are, well, uncomfortable. Launching Ploppals is a brand-new adventure for me. There’s so much to do, so much to learn, and it’s all new. Some days, it’s scary. But when I look at the Flower Plop’s sweet, silly face smiling at me, I remember that this discomfort is part of the process. It’s a sign that I’m growing, reaching, and creating something that matters.

And you know what makes it all worthwhile? The connections I’ve made along the way. Whether it’s the artisans who pour their love into each handcrafted Ploppal, the customers who light up with joy when they unbox their quirky new friend, or the community that’s already starting to grow around this project—I’m so deeply grateful for every single one of you.

So, if you’re feeling sh*tty today, I hope the Flower Plop can remind you of what’s possible. I hope you know that, even in the messiest moments, you are growing. You are blooming. And you can do incredible things. Sometimes, all it takes is a little laughter, a little love, and a quirky companion cheering you on.

With gratitude,
