Trick or Treat… or Ploppal? Why the Weirdest Gift Might Be the Most Meaningful

This Halloween, forget the candy. Let’s talk about potatoes, poop-shaped plushies, and the radical power of loving someone exactly as they are.

I saw a post this week that completely cracked me up - and then made me pause.
A man handed out potatoes to trick-or-treaters. Real ones. Just sitting there in the bucket beside the candy. And what happened?

A surprising number of kids chose the potatoes.

No shiny wrapper. No sugar. No marketing. Just… a potato.

And I thought, "Well, that’s it. That’s exactly what a Ploppal is."

At first glance, gifting someone a poop-shaped plush sounds like a gag. And yes - it is funny. But it’s also so much more than that.

🍂 Not a Fix. Not a Joke. A Celebration.

Ploppals are soft, handmade, heartfelt little reminders that say:

"I see the crap you're dealing with. And I love you always."

They're for those days when you're not looking for solutions or silver linings.
They're for when you just need someone to say:

“You don’t have to clean it up to be worthy of love.”

That’s why I made them. Because sometimes the world hands us things wrapped in shiny foil - advice, pressure to feel better, or overly sentimental gifts that don’t quite land.

But every now and then… we just need a potato.
Or a poop.
Something unexpected. Something weird.
Something that says: I see you, as you are - and you are enough.

👻 The Trick Is Expectation. The Treat Is Being Seen.

It’s easy to assume someone needs cheering up.
But what they might need more is a witness.
Someone to say:

“Yes, it’s a mess right now.”
“And you’re still lovable.”
“I’m not here to fix you. I’m here to stay with you.”

That’s what Ploppals do - they take something silly and turn it into something sacred:
The gift of feeling seen, even in the sh*tshow.

💩 Why a Poop Plush = Love

So whether it’s a Flower Ploppal that says “You can grow even in the mess,”
Or a Heart Ploppal that says “I give a sht about you,”*
- these aren’t gag gifts.

They’re nourishing.
They’re validating.
They’re love letters in disguise.

Just like those kids who reached for the potatoes instead of the candy, sometimes we don’t want the sugar-coated version.
We want the real thing.
We want to be fed, not just entertained.

🧡 Trick or Treat… or Truth?

This Halloween, maybe the best gift isn’t the fanciest.
Maybe it’s the one that makes someone feel:

✅ Seen
✅ Loved
✅ Worthy — no matter what they’re going through

Whether you gift a Ploppal, a potato, or just your presence - let it come from that place.

The place that says:
"I see your mess. I celebrate your strength. And I love you through it all."
